It was 70 degrees and sunny today, the first week of November, in Chicago. And I spent it inside.
Yesterday I got a ride in the country, and today I had to pay for it with a day in front of the computer. I have more than 500 bulbs to plant, but tomorrow I'm going to a business meeting in a hotel conference center. The only gardening I've done this week is watering the houseplants. How did it all go so wrong?

My sympathy, Beth ! Dust bunnies are forming under my furniture as we speak because I just can't miss these two rare days of 70's in November.
The rest of the week should be pretty good so get out and plant those 500 bulbs !
Hope you got a chance to get all those bulbs planted Beth. I was out yesterday pruning shrubs and cleaning up frost-killed stuff in the front foundation plantings - had to go inside a few times to thaw out my hands even with thermal gardening gloves on. Even with the sun, it was mighty chilly out there! It was worth it though - I'm so glad that stuff is done.
