Hyde Park-Woodlawn community gardening meeting
I hear there will be a meeting about "The future of community gardening in the Woodlawn/Hyde Park area" on Thursday, Nov. 12, at 6 p.m. at Carnegie School, 1414 E. 61st Pl. This is in the wake of the demise of the 61st Street Community Garden.

I just listened to a story on WBEZ about a new Woodlawn Community Garden. It was a Chicago Matters piece by HS senior Mark Blanchard. http://www.wbez.org/Content.aspx?audioID=38991
Mark noted that he had asked Mayor Daley to provide the land at an event celebrating the garden idea -- and Mayor Daley agrde. Mark has been conditioning the soil since then.
Do you know where this garden is?
I see a Nov 13 Chicago Maroon article noted "Cochran...offered city-owned land on the nearby corner of 62nd Street and Dorchester Avenue for a permanent garden."
Is this all in place? Thanks for the info! --mnm
